During the latter parts of 2005 and the beginning of 2006, Given the continued and assured word that Ft Riley would build up with troops and dependents as well as an increase in civilian positions, A loose organization of volunteers began meeting to map a course which would allow the local Churches to provide a Christian outreach to soldiers and their dependents. Kansas government officials and Fort Riley Chaplains were brought in as guest speakers to inform us of the best use of our resources, as well as giving us the most up to date information available. |

2007 |
Continued prayer and planning brought about solid goals and projects to concentrate on. Many members of the Military Ministry team have previous or present military connections. We feel this gives us an insight into the needs of the Soldier and his dependents which is unparalleled in a single Church setting. |
